On October 7th, 2023, Hamas terrorists launch an attack on Israel, killing civilians and taking hostages. It is the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. In shock, Israel retaliated with a full-scale war aimed at destroying Hamas. However, by waging war in Gaza, Israel triggers a deep Palestinian trauma—the expulsion of 1948. The film explores why the cycle of violence in the Middle East persists, using trauma therapy to uncover the roots of the conflict. Leading trauma experts from around the world attempt to explain the unexplainable. Is there any hope for breaking the cycle?
